Throughout 2015, the Alliance continued to build momentum and community. This year was the end of an administrative period (the second half of a two-year workplan and last year of a strategic plan) and the exercise allowed the Secretariat to take stock of progress, learn from challenges and adjust plans as necessary.
In addition to a foreword by John-Arne Røttingen, retiring Board chair at the end of 2015, and an introduction by the executive director Abdul Ghaffar, the report uses detailed examples of the Alliance’s work to provide an overview of approaches and accomplishments over the past year, including comments from partners involved.
There is much “work in progress” that one hesitates yet to claim as impact from Alliance activities as progress can take time. Yet slowly but surely, step by step, the Alliance is leading the field of health policy and systems research. A world map illustrates some specific successes.
