The Alliance recently published its 2016 Annual Report titled, "Partnership and Policy Engagement." In keeping with the theme, the Alliance focused on strengthening partnerships and deepening its engagement with policy-makers and programme implementers to achieve greater impact. Snapshots of these activities include the following:
- established the Health Policy Leadership Initiative (HPLI) to better understand the needs of policy-makers for demand driven and responsive research;
- launched the Flagship Report, "Open Mindsets: Participatory Leadership for Health" along with a special issue on “Effective Leadership for Health Systems” in the Health Systems & Reform Journal;
- co-sponsored the Fourth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research in Vancouver, Canada which was attended by more than 2,000 participants;
- hosted the first Societal Awards for Health Systems Research with Health Systems Global (HSG), to recognize the contributions of researchers and policy-makers to the field of HPSR. The awards will be held every second year to coincide with the Global Symposium on HSR, and
- creation of a crowd-sourced HPSR Training Database that lists courses and trainings on health systems research from around the world.
These are just some of the accomplishments contained in this report.
