The Report of the Expert Consultation on Primary Care Systems Profiles & Performance (PRIMASYS) is now available.
In July 2015 the Alliance convened global experts on primary care to debate the science and organization of primary care and healthcare delivery systems in low- and middle-income countries. The objectives of this meeting were: 1) to devise a strategy for the development of country case studies and the analysis of cross-country lessons and 2) to inform the development of tools for collecting, reporting, and analysing data on primary care systems.
The recommendations made at the consultation will be used to inform the design and implementation of the PRIMASYS project.
Over the next three years, 20 case studies will be undertaken across select low- and middle-income countries. PRIMASYS is being led by the Alliance, in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and with the participation of the WHO Department for Service Delivery and Safety.
