This is a special session jointly organized by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and Health Systems Global. In this session led by policymakers attending the Symposium, we will engage in robust and thoughtful conversation about the challenges and opportunities facing policymakers hoping to integrate health policy and systems research (HPSR)  into decision-making, both every day and for major strategic changes. Our panellists reflect a rich diversity of policymaking viewpoints from different regions, experiences and roles within the health system. Panellists will reflect on what it takes to build just and sustainable health systems that thrive in a culture of evidence use while facing a context of increasing political instability, distressing impacts of climate change on health, and new and rapidly changing digital tools with incredible potential to revolutionize health service delivery.
