The evolution of HPSR: achieving global health goals

27 September 2023 17:00 – 18:30 ET
Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, Washington, DC, United States of America

Over the past 25 years, the field of health policy and systems research (HPSR) has emerged as a cornerstone of strong health systems, enabling healthy populations, ensuring health security and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Reflecting on the research and learning agenda required to implement the decisions made by countries at the three 2023 UN High Level Meetings on universal health coverage, pandemic preparedness and response, and tuberculosis, this seminar will provide an overview of the progress made in the field of HPSR, the key challenges it should address to contribute to priority global health targets, and opportunities for its growth and development. This is the sixth in a series of events coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, and is hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Washington, DC.
