Qualitative evidence syntheses (or systematic reviews of qualitative studies) are increasingly used to bring together findings from individual qualitative studies. However, it is difficult to use these findings to inform decisions and policies because methods to assess how much confidence to place in synthesised findings are poorly developed.
In this webinar we will present the Confidence in the Evidence from Reviews of Qualitative research (CERQual) approach, being developed by the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) Working Group. GRADE-CERQual (www.cerqual.org) is an innovative approach for assessing how much confidence to place in findings from qualitative evidence syntheses. The approach is described in a recently published paper in PLOS Medicine: http://journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/article?id=10.1371/journal.pmed.1001895.
